From the Owner, Scott Twiford:
We are a family owned and operated, 2nd generation retail business just launching recently. Growing up, my dad owned a very popular and well known (in our town) train, toy, and hobby shop. Trains were the main specialty, but he also had a small section of diecast 1:18 and 1:43 cars. This is where my passion for collecting diecast began, as I found myself spending all of my time in awe of the merchandise. Before I was 10yrs old, I worked for my dad and ran the candy shop that he added on. Between unlimited candy, popcorn, coke in the glass bottle, and diecast cars, I had quite the childhood! My first diecast car was a Bburago 1:18 Porsche 911 993 in yellow, and 30+ years later I still own the model.
It is this passion, excitement, and thrill of collecting, along with the memories and nostalgia of my childhood, that inspired me to launch this business.
Our Values:
My beliefs and values in running a business start with customer service. It is a simple, important, yet as of late a completely neglected value that the retail industry seems to have forgotten. At STM Diecast, we have not.
Personal relationships are another important value at STM Diecast. You are not just another transaction, order number, or customer to us. We like to get to know our customers, what their preferences and passions are, and what drives them as collectors. Are you looking for a one stop shop to build a long term relationship, with great service and passion for the same things? Where we know what your brand preference is? Or that rare, hard to find, or new item you want us to keep an eye out for? Affordability is last, but certainly not least, as I think there is too much price gouging and greed happening in this industry. I think having affordable items while still making a profit is a viable and winning formula that we pride ourselves on. We carry all of the lines from the entry level to the very high end collector’s dream, with everything in between. And what's more, we have a Request It! Feature where if we don’t carry what you’re looking for, that doesn’t mean you have to go to a competitor and miss out on our great pricing. If it's still available in our distribution channels, we will add it to the website and order it for you!
Our Mission:
We aim to provide diecast collectors worldwide with high-quality, reasonably priced products, exceptional customer service, and enduring relationships, enabling them to concentrate on their collection rather than their budget.
In closing, yes we are a newer company. But we are not new to retail, customer service, or a passion for collecting diecast. Give us a try and see the difference!
